Our History
January 17, 2007 The Working Moms Playgroup was established as an informal group by a working mom living in Walpole MA who could not find local events to fit around her full time working schedule. Initially the WMPlaygroup utilized Meetup.com to host their calendar of events and communications. Within 5 years WMP grew to include almost 200 members from Norwood, Walpole, Sharon, and the surrounding communities.
September 18, 2014 The Working Moms Playgroup, Inc was registered as a nonprofit business with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Today Over the past 10+ years, our group has ebbed and flowed. Two additional chapters were created and then opted to close in 2020. Our Norwood/Walpole chapter persevered through the pandemic and continues to regularly offer events, support, and connections to our approximately 50 members.
Communications Working Moms Playgroup, Inc. utilizes this website, private Facebook groups, WhatsApp, and personal email/text messages to communicate with Members as well as for Members to communicate with one another.
Get Involved This is a face-to-face group that utilizes technology to manage our calendar and communications. Member attendance at events is expected and truly is the best way to connect and build supportive, long term relationships. By joining our group you are making a commitment to yourself, your children, and our members to attend events.
